MSPRC’s New Online Self-Service Tool Helps Manage Medicare Recovery Cases

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have implemented a new web-based tool designed to assist in the resolution of Liability, No-Fault, and Workers’ Comp Medicare recovery cases. The new tool is called The Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Portal (MSPRP).

The MSPRP enables attorneys, insurers, beneficiaries and TPAs to access and update certain case-specific information online. Activities that formerly required written communications or telephone calls to the MSPRC can now be executed via the portal saving valuable time for all parties involved.

The MSPRP allows users the ability to perform the following activities electronically:

  • Submit Proof of Representation or Consent to Release documentation: Users may upload authorizations instantly— rather than mail them.
  • Request conditional payment information: Requesting updated conditional payment amounts or obtaining copies of current conditional payment letters— now only a few clicks away.
  • Dispute claims included in a conditional payment letter: Users may view claims listed on conditional payment letters and dispute unrelated claims— in seconds— online.
  • Submit case settlement information: Inputting settlement information and uploading copies of settlement documentation— has never been easier.

All information on the new portal is located in the Tool Kit section.
