April 1, 2020 –
As of today, CMS will no longer be accepting Consent to Release Notes that do not include the following additional language:
“Further, I have had the Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set-Aside Arrangement need and process explained to me, and I approve the contents of the submission.
If you have Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set-Aside (WCMSA) that has not yet been submitted to CMS for review, these new Consent to Release will need to be included in your WCMSA submission. NuQuest has been providing this form to our clients and will continue to do so going forward. Please note that Consent to Release Notes are only required for submission of a WCMSA to CMS for review.
As part of our new NuQuest Knowledge Series, NuQuest will also be hosting a webinar focused on what is actually required for WCMSA submissions. Further information on our NuQuest Knowledge Series will be forthcoming.
As noted in our prior blog posting we have also confirmed that CMS is acting in a “business as usual” capacity and is reviewing and approving WCMSA submissions.
Should you have any questions regarding this new requirement or for any of your Medicare compliance needs, please contact the NuQuest Settlement Consultant Team at: [email protected].
