Assistant Service Coordinator

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

Shift:  1st shift with availability to be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Travel:  Not applicable

Reports to:  Service Coordinator Supervisor

Department:  NuQuest/Service Coordination

Location:  NuQuest/Bridge Pointe Longwood, FL

Essential Duties:

  • Reviews initial file handling instructions from Service Coordinator II and assists with management of open files through the Medicare set-aside process
  •  Pursues requested medical records and releases
  • Communicates with Social Security Office to obtain Social Security and/or Medicare entitlement status
  • Communicates with Medicare to obtain conditional payment estimates, demands and results of negotiation, and provides Referral Source with updates
  • Communicates with Medicare to obtain CMS approval status and provides status to Referral Source
  • Prepares file for assignment to nurse for cost projections
  • Receives, screens, and routes incoming telephone calls; resolves routine problems requiring knowledge of department policies and procedures; provides information
  • Documents pertinent data in computer application
  • Supports team cohesiveness through on-going diplomatic effective written and verbal communication
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Must be detail oriented – the individual has the ability to identify and interpret finite details contained within MSP statutes and CMS communications.

Required:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

Preferred:

  • College degree and/or college courses
  • 1-3 Years of experience in Workers Compensation
  • Experience in call center environment

Environmental Conditions: 

  • Work is done primarily indoors, office environment, low to moderate noise levels

  • Ability to manage a moderate level of job related stress
